ACCIONA Energía is governed by the most demanding environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria.Mission: To provide support and technical inputs to the work of the Engineering & Construction and Development teams including Wind data analysis and Wind Farm site prospecting.Job DescriptionResponsibilities:The main responsibilities will include but not limited to:Responsible for the planning and implementation of meteorological data measurement campaigns.Overseeing installation, on-site validation, maintenance and decommissioning of meteorological stations (including LiDAR units). Responsible for start-to finish works including liaising with Contractors, performing field visits, inspections, data analysis and quality control.Responsible for ongoing data collection and quality assurance of meteorological stations.Responsible of the data collection and engaged in analysis of remotely sensed data from LIDAR platforms.Support the Project Management in the coordination and execution of works related to meteorological stations installations and maintenances.Incident detection, fault analysis, and management of the necessary solutions with the various departments (Engineering, Procurement, Quality Safety and Environmental (QSE), Business development, and Finance).Capabilities in field work to collect all the necessary information related to meteorological stations failures or incidences.Office and on-site coordination and follow-up of the different works contracted to external parties.Knowledge of procedures of installation & maintenance of meteorological instrumentation and towers.Management and knowledge of meteorological sensors.Support to Headquarters in the site selection process during the prospecting phase of wind farm developments (the phase prior to business case development).General support, on site and desktop, in coordination with Project Management and Headquarters for technical development of projects.Ensuring compliance with ACCIONA Energia Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.Ensuring compliance with ACCIONA Energia policies and procedures.Required Skills and CompetenciesDegree/Training:Graduate with a technical diploma/ degree (preferably engineering or physical science) as a minimum.Must be proficient with MS-Office programs, including Word, Excel, Access & PowerPoint.Capabilities with drafting and mapping software preferred: MapInfo, ESRI ArcGIS, ArcPad, Trimble GPS, Google Earth.Knowledge and experience with databases.Additional:Good understanding of renewable energy project topics.Valid driver’s licenseMust be able to travel within South Africa and the rest of Sub-Saharan Africa and abroad from time to timeSelf-starter with an inquisitive nature.Excellent communication and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsLanguages/Level: EnglishYears/Areas experience required: Minimum 2 Years’ experience in energy sectorAvailability to travel: YesAs a company that values diversity as a source of talent, we work to foster an inclusive environment that promotes respect, belonging and engagement so that all people can participate on an equal opportunity basis.
