Job Title: Project Manager - Electrical Substation Job Description:
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and schedules for electrical substation projects. Define project scope, milestones, and deliverables specific to substation construction and installation.
- Design Review and Coordination: Review and approve electrical substation designs, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and local regulations. Coordinate with engineering teams, consultants, and vendors to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
- Budget and Cost Management: Prepare and manage the project budget, tracking expenses related to materials, labor, and equipment. Monitor project expenditures to ensure the substation project remains within budget and report variances to senior management.
- Procurement and Vendor Management: Oversee the procurement process for electrical components, equipment, and materials needed for the substation. Manage relationships with suppliers and contractors, ensuring the timely delivery of equipment and services.
- Team Leadership and Coordination: Lead and manage multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure effective communication and coordination between all teams working on the substation project.
- Risk Management and Mitigation: Identify potential risks, including technical, safety, and environmental issues, and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure all safety protocols and industry regulations are strictly adhered to during the substation's construction and commissioning phases.
- Quality Assurance and Control: Ensure that all electrical installations, equipment, and materials meet quality standards and specifications. Conduct regular inspections and tests to verify the proper functioning of the electrical systems at the substation.
- Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental standards related to substation construction. Oversee safety protocols on-site, conduct regular safety audits, and ensure that all personnel are properly trained in safety practices.
- Stakeholder Management and Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders. Provide regular project updates and progress reports to senior management and clients.
- Regulatory and Compliance Oversight: Ensure that the substation project meets all local, national, and international electrical and environmental regulations. Obtain necessary permits and approvals for construction and commissioning.
- Commissioning and Handover: Oversee the commissioning of electrical substation equipment, ensuring that systems are tested, functional, and safe. Manage the handover of the completed substation to the client, including all documentation, manuals, and performance records.
- Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve any issues that arise during the construction, testing, or commissioning phases of the substation. Provide technical expertise to troubleshoot problems and ensure timely solutions.
- Project Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation for the project, including design plans, contracts, progress reports, and safety records. Provide periodic project status reports to senior management and stakeholders.
