ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES In the frame of a Maintenance Contract for Qatar Armed Forces, the Electronics Repair Technician takes part of a team of Three Thales Experts. Being located at the Signal-Corp Base, the Thales team is embedded into the Customer’s global team working for the End Users (Qatar Armed Forces). The Experts team is in charge of supporting technically the Customer in order to repair and maintain his radios until Depot Level (Cards and Components Level). On top of that, the team works with a support of Thales back office in France (Design Authority, System Engineering, Supply chain). The selected candidate should accomplish as technical in electronics:
- Disassembly and assembly of the equipment named also LRU (Line Replaceable Unit)
- Operate several benches on faulty equipment.
- Analyze the test result and validate the faulty equipment.
- Replace the faulty SRU (Shop Replaceable Unit).
- Solder and unsolder components on electronics boards.
- Support new model of introduction in fault investigations compiling detailed technical reports using Microsoft office.
- Control of technical repair Spare parts.
- Assist the Service Team Leader with prioritizing repair, based on utilization or upcoming orders.
- Train the Customer and different End-Users on radio maintenance and associated Thales equipments (SOTAS).
- Carry out regulatory compliance testing as appropriate.
- Work alongside team members and across the workshop constructively.
- An Electronics background with advanced soldering abilities on SMD printed circuit boards is desirable.
- Experience with soldering fine pitch integrated circuits.
- Experience with reading and understanding electronic schematics.
- Experience in fault finding and repair PCB’s to component level without the use of automated test equipment.
- Experience in repairing SMPS, ballasts and complex digital boards.
- Experience in maintaining a safe, clean and hazard-free environment and understand and comply with the Company’s Health and Safety Rules.
- Ability to follow and constructively work alongside others as required, contributing towards team efficiency.
- Positive attitude, with a desire to learn and progress within the Company.
- Reliable and Accountable: Willing to take responsibility and ensure all tasks are fulfilled as required.
- Long experience with computer skills including all Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working in a customer-facing role within the defense sector is highly desirable.

- Bachelor’s degree in electronics and electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Certification IPC-7711 or 7721 and IPC-A-610 or 620.
- Certification IPC J-STD-001
- Experiences in mobile probe testing, ideally Takaya, Insitu or Seica.
- Well understanding of the rules of OLM, ILM and DLM processes.
- Certification IPC-7711 or 7721 and IPC-A-610 or 620.
- An excellent knowledge of electronics / systems, as well as technology in general.
- Capable of reading and understanding electronic schematics.
- Control and implementation of key process changes.
- Analytical analysis (& presentation) of technical repair data.
- High level Soldering skills (Silver / Gold) to enable soldering of varied surface mount components (0402, 0603, BGA, FPGA) etc – Training will be given
- English mandatory
- French is a must
- Arabic is a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
