Operations Support Specialist

The Group Securities is a well-established investment organization working in the finance industry since 1989, as a company devoted to the stock exchange. It was licensed once Qatar Stock Exchange was founded in 1997 and provides an array of investment services to more than 400,000 investors, with portfolios exceeding QR 100 billion. As brokerage firm, The Group Securities finances margin trading and operates as liquidity provider for the listed shares and ETFs. The company has a paid-up capital worth (QR 1 billion), and has been continuously posting profit since its inception. Besides being licensed by Qatar Financial Market Authority to exercise these activities, The Group Securities is also a member of Qatar Stock Exchange.Responsibilities:Monitor all systems using monitoring applications.Take corrective actions that needn't software development - like starting stand by systems.Help in searching the causes of the problem using logs and services status.Daily procedures related to system operations.Work as first level support for the systems.Provide daily reports about system errors or problems.Create, follow up and co-ordinate between Business, Development, Quality and Operations for New changes through the change management policy.Report, follow up system problems until solved.Ensure accurate monitoring, logging, metrics, and alerting of Systems.Document all operational functions and maintain updated operational manual.Continuously search, test alternate solutions and new technologies to enhance system and business performance.Qualifications:B.S. Computer science / Information systems.4 years of experience with software and information systems.1 year of experience with financial systems.Knowledge of SQL and programming, Oracle DB experience is preferred.ITIL certified is preferred.Preferred experience with Cloud technologies (Google, Azure, AWS) and containersKnowledge of DevOps.PMP certified is preferred.Experience with systems monitoring and management tools.Knowledge of Information Security policies and procedures.Ability to analyze the business needs and process workflow in order to solve problems.UNIX / Linux experience is preferred.Strong communication and analytical skills.Strong Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
