Job Summary:

The HSE Specialist will provide expert advice on occupational safety strategies and programs, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and fostering a culture of safety.

Core Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership and Policy Implementation:

  1. Develop and implement safety policies and procedures aligned with OSHA and industry best practices.
  2. Promote a 'Beyond Zero-harm' culture.
  3. Establish relationships with external stakeholders for benchmarking and best practice sharing.
  4. Set safety performance goals to achieve top quartile performance.

Safety Leadership:

  1. Serve as the primary safety advisor and role model.
  2. Conduct safety walks, participate in toolbox talks, and engage with employees on safety matters.
  3. Provide advice to the Safety Committee and support strategic safety initiatives.
  4. Integrate safety considerations into business operations and drive continuous improvement.

Safety Management System Oversight:

  1. Implement and improve the Occupational Safety Management System.
  2. Conduct audits, inspections, and assessments to ensure compliance with OSHA, ISO 45001, and other regulations.
  3. Develop safety policies, standards, and procedures.

Safety Compliance:

  1. Monitor and measure compliance with safety requirements.
  2. Conduct audits and inspections, and report on compliance.
  3. Maintain a visible presence in plant and project activities.

Risk Management and Mitigation:

  1. Facilitate risk and hazard assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  2. Implement risk mitigation procedures and safe work plans.

Safety Equipment:

  1. Identify and maintain fire and safety equipment.
  2. Ensure equipment is available and functional in case of incidents.

Emergency Preparedness and Response:

  1. Develop emergency response plans and provide training and resources.
  2. Conduct emergency drills and participate in external emergency planning.
  3. Investigate incidents to determine causes and recommend mitigation measures.
  4. Analyze incident data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Safety Culture and Communication:

  1. Develop safety communication systems to promote the 'Beyond Zero-harm' culture.
  2. Integrate safety information into corporate systems.

Contractor Safety Management:

  1. Develop and implement a contractor safety management program.
  2. Ensure contractors meet safety requirements and are trained on safety procedures.
  3. Conduct safety audits and inspections of contractor operations.

Budget and Plans:

  1. Participate in budget preparation and monitor financial performance.
  2. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining safety standards.
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per annum Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Health, Safety, Environmental Sciences, or relevant disciplines. NEBOSH or equivalent certification preferred. Minimum Experience: 6+ years of HSE experience in an industrial environment, with at least 4 years in the oil and gas industry. #J-18808-Ljbffr
