Engagement Skills Trainer (EST) II Operations

Position Summary The EST O/Ms provide operations support at Camps Buehring & Arifjan. The system simulates weapon-training events that lead to live-fire individual/crew weapon-training events/activities. Additionally, it enables sustainment marksmanship training, static unit, collective gunnery and tactical training, and shoot/don't shoot scenarios. The simulator also supports marksmanship, squad/fire team collective, and judgmental use of force training. The CFFT I/O/Ms provide instructor/operations support on use of CFFT and scenario design/modifications. The CFFT provides realistic observed fire training in support of all indirect fire and close air support mission tasks. The device is lightweight and simulates battlefield environments for training Fire Support Specialists, Joint Fires Observers, and Soldiers. It trains all Artillery, type II and III close air support, naval gunfire, and mortar missions. Flat screens only; no panoramic viewing. What You’ll Do
  1. Diagnosing system failures, repair/replace components; and system power up/power down.
  2. Expose Soldiers to the effects of weapons effects and fire support and develop the skills necessary to react properly in a combat scenario.
  3. Integrate available terrain databases to realistically replicate current operating environments and allow simulated situations to conduct operations in simulation, as well as a full range of threats.
  4. Fully utilize interfaces for team connectivity and precision small-arms simulators to protect against threats in a combat-related scenario.
  5. Provide soldiers first-hand experience to increase their situational awareness of fire and maneuver in a combat scenario.
  6. Repair/replacement of damaged components, diagnosing system failures on the Trainers, and various other TADSS.
  7. Actively collaborate with rotational units to ensure the proper Instructor to Trainee ratio.
  8. Provide effective weapons and fire support training with a standardized training platform for both classroom and simulated battlefield conditions.
  9. System-TADSS allows crews to develop and sustain individual and crew-level proficiency to perform critical combat skills required to transition to other individual and collective training.
Travel: Able to travel as required (with focus countries including: Jordan, Qatar, and UAE); Active and current US Passport required. Requirements and Qualifications:
  1. Requires advanced knowledge of job area, especially: EST II O/M and CFFT I/O/M of assigned systems.
  2. Based on a detailed Mission Analysis and Provisos directed in a recently approved Department of State Permanent Export License (DSP-5), all Virtual I/O/M positions have been coded as American National-Only.
  3. Ability to prepare training programs, conduct technical training sessions, and evaluate the effectiveness of training activities.
  4. Subject Matter Expertise and Knowledge of EST II O/M and CFFT I/O/M.
  5. High School Graduate.
  6. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. SECRET Security Clearance.
Desired Qualifications:
  1. Undergraduate or Associates Degree.
  2. 4+ years experience on related systems.
  3. 2+ years experience on this contract.
