Key Skills - Multicast, MPVN ,MLDP, L3VPN, BGP, ISIS and MPLS Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Support Engineer with specialized expertise in multicast and WAN technologies to join our dynamic and fast-paced network operations team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, troubleshooting, and supporting large-scale multicast and WAN (BGP, L3/L2VPN, VRF) networks. This role will focus on the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of complex multicast and WAN environments to ensure the highest levels of availability, performance, and security for our clients. The Network Support Engineer will collaborate with network operations, and service teams to provide in-depth technical support and guidance for all multicast- and WAN-related issues and implementations. This position requires a proactive problem solver with a deep understanding of multicast protocols, WAN infrastructure, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. Responsibilities:

  • WAN Operations & Troubleshooting: Support, and troubleshoot WAN services, including BGP, L3VPN, L2VPN, and VRF configurations across multiple service providers and customer environments.
  • Ensure network stability and performance for MPLS, VPLS, and other L2/L3 WAN services, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors to resolve complex issues.
  • Manage WAN routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, ISIS and OSPF in a VRF context for L2/L3VPN services.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to test and validate multicast and WAN network designs in lab environments before production deployment.
  • Network Monitoring & Automation:
  • Monitoring and manage visibility into multicast and WAN traffic patterns, latency, and packet loss.
  • Multicast Network Operations & Support: Monitor and support multicast network solutions, including Protocol Independent Multicast (PIM), Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP), and Source-Specific Multicast (SSM).
  • Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for multicast network issues, ensuring minimal impact on operations and swift resolution of incidents.
  • Monitor multicast traffic flows, identify anomalies, and implement corrective actions to optimize network performance.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for complex multicast-related incidents and deliver post-incident reviews and recommendations.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance network efficiency and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate multicast solutions into existing network architectures.
  • Document network configurations, processes, and procedures to ensure comprehensive knowledge sharing and compliance.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and other IT staff.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure the network infrastructure remains current and competitive.
  • Qualifications: Minimum of 8 years of experience in WAN support/engineering, with a strong focus on multicast technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of multicast protocols such as PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, IGMP, and MSDP.
  • Proficiency in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and performance optimisation techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
