Enterprise Architect Back OfficeWhat does an Enterprise Architect at Coolblue do?As an Enterprise Architect Back Office, or as we like to call it: Back Office Engineering Boss, you are responsible for our software architecture and landscape of the Back Office area, including strategic planning and execution. The Back Office area entails any software that is used by our employees or an (operational) process to support the day-to-day running of our business. This includes our purchasing, warehouse, delivery and installations, returns, finance, HR and energy contracts teams.Based on our strategic business goals, you define the most suitable Back Office Engineering architecture. You will ensure that our 40+ Back Office Development teams use technology, programming languages, principles, blueprints and guidelines that enable scalability, increase speed of delivery or reduce maintenance costs. In addition, you are able to communicate clearly about this at various levels, from proposing to management about yearly goals or promising new technology, to evangelizing principles, blueprints and guidelines to our entire development population. This way you ensure these are successfully implemented in each of our 300+ daily software releases.Furthermore, you initiate, organize and supervise implementation of new (strategic) software engineering technologies and projects like our own Delivery Hero app or a new Warehouse Management System. You utilize the knowledge of the full Development community and support bottom-up initiatives. You challenge Principal Developers on their architectural choices and contributions to the Development teams, ensuring that these align with your Engineering goals and the business needs.As Enterprise Architect, you are part of the Software Engineering Board, which steers and decides upon domain overarching Software Engineering projects, like geographical expansion to Germany.
