OverviewThe EMEA Legal Team of Foot Locker is an international team composed of 11 team members with diverse legal backgrounds; we cover a wide range of legal, strategic, and business issues in 21 countries in EMEA.Currently, we are recruiting a full-time legal counsel specialized in employment law who is willing to work in a dynamic industry and join an international legal department. The associate legal counsel will have a Dutch employment law background and will cover the central business based in The Netherlands; the associate legal counsel will also support the local employment teams in EMEA, with the support of local outside counsel. Affinity with the retail industry is a plus. Previous working experience on the following matters is also requested: Works Council, Whistleblowing, Speak-Up policies, and Internal Investigation.Working in this team, you must be comfortable with understanding how various legal systems work and be able to understand the core of the matters, but also be precise, have a healthy dose of common sense, and be able to make good decisions.ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day assistance in matters within the spectrum of employment law, from ordinary to extraordinary, including matters related to works council, whistleblowing, speak-up policies, and internal investigation.Work in close connection with the HR department in The Netherlands.Support the local HR offices in the different GEOs with the support of external counsel.Maintain regular touch bases with the HR business.Manage the litigation strategy in employment cases.Respond quickly and accurately to all requests and assignments, without neglecting quality.Manage time in order to reach the department's or company's deadline.QualificationsTeam player, willing to attend legal department meetings and team activities.Proactive, respectful, and willing to learn.Strong willingness to succeed.High level of interpersonal skills.Good judgement and high level of integrity.Master's degree in law.Previous studying and working experience abroad are highly appreciated.Previous experience in a similar position or in a law firm in a similar practice area for about 5-8 years.Dutch native speaker and fluency in English.
