As a Senior Analyst, you will advise and assist in the planning, budgeting, forecasting, analysis, modelling, and reporting of the total retail business. You will also assist in the development of the strategic business plan, monitor ongoing performance and business profitability, and optimise ongoing business performance. Specific responsibilities include:
- Modelling and providing current, previous, and forecasted financial information to assist and enable brand, operations, and support function management to review performance and build business plans that optimise trading patterns.
- Independently and objectively reviewing plans for business sense (financial continuity, consistency, and realism) providing guidance/direction throughout the approval cycle.
- Reviewing budget against actual trading performance every period.
- Re-forecasting profit expectations with the Group Financial Controller to enable the business to act quickly and appropriately.
- Ensuring the timely and accurate production of standard and customised financial reports for the business.
- Ensuring that brand, operations, and support management are fully briefed on how reports should be used to identify critical success factors and focus corrective actions.
- Undertaking focused analysis on Capex/investment performance, brand, store, and country profitability and ongoing costs reviews.
- Providing commentary to support critical business decisions and provide sound independent financial advice to senior management.
- Illustrating results, trends, or conditions which impact profitability.
- Degree with recognised accounting qualification.
- 5 years' accounting experience within retail or a similar business.
- PC literate.
