Roles and Responsibilities

The Pool Butler is responsible for serving the needs of the business, our guests, and our colleagues by maintaining the effectiveness of day-to-day pool operations and enhancing guest experience as a key point of contact for guest interaction in the resort. Responsibilities:
  • Ensure smooth running of the pool service on a day-to-day basis to achieve the highest possible levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Support company philosophy and culture through the use of Departmental Legendary Quality Experiences on a daily basis to ensure Guest Satisfaction and the achievement of our Mission Statement.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of the products and services offered by the resort.
  • Ensure that poolside cleanliness, ambience, and service are maintained as per standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of service throughout the pool area.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies for the operations of the section.
  • Attend daily line-ups, weekly and monthly meetings.
  • Ensure that all activities are performed in a safe environment using proper safety techniques.
  • Work closely to promote offerings to maximize guest satisfaction and hotel revenue.
  • Maintain a strong working relationship with other departments.
  • Ensure proper accounting procedures are followed when collecting charging fees.
  • Stay updated with all guest bookings for recreational activities.
  • Ensure guest history records are updated at all times in coordination with the Recreational Management team.
  • Take ownership of guest requests and needs and ensure immediate action as appropriate.
  • Advise management of all guest feedback and unusual matters.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the swimming pool and all areas of the department as per standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure that liability waiver forms are signed by guests participating in experiences.
  • Maintain adequate par stock in the recreation department and requisition supplies where necessary.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 1 year experience within a Recreation/Leisure or Fitness & Wellness environment.
  • Minimum 1 year experience working within a 5-star hotel is preferred.
  • Valid Lifeguard/First Aid and Pool Responder qualifications are preferred.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Verbal and written communication skills in Arabic or other languages are preferred.
  • Ability to service guest/member needs effectively in an outdoor environment.
  • Knowledge of pool safety standards and the ability to extend this knowledge via training.
  • Understanding of food and beverage hygiene standards.
  • Basic money handling skills, including using POS systems.
  • Ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver superior customer service.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical capabilities to stand for long periods; flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as per business needs.
