Chief Steward Job Description The Chief Steward is responsible for overseeing the Stewarding Department and maintaining exceptional cleanliness in all food processing facilities. The ideal candidate should be able to work varying shifts and perform well under pressure while providing a courteous, professional, efficient, and flexible service that meets Kempinski hotel standards. Main Responsibilities: Monitor operating supplies and equipment to minimize waste and optimize performance. Maintain a clean and organized workspace and surrounding area at all times. Ensure the team consistently delivers exceptional service and sets up high-quality standards. Compile and present reports on outlet performance during monthly meetings. Lead the outlet in cost management, focusing on delivering high-quality services while driving revenue and profit growth. Conduct bi-monthly inventory of operating supplies and equipment with the stewarding department. Review and update departmental operations manuals annually with the Head of Department. Collaborate with suppliers to support operational activities. Organize outlet-specific training as outlined by the department. Perform secondary duties assigned by the Head of Department. Respond promptly to changes dictated by hotel management. Comply with garbage regulations, including separation and designated collection schedules. Familiarize yourself with cleaning procedures, dishwashing machine operation, and chemical usage. Track breakage to provide continuous feedback and reduce losses. Adhere strictly to established budgets and expense plans, ensuring cost control. Assist in preparing the Annual Operating Budget for operating expenses, equipment, and FF&E requirements. Supervise contractors in kitchen and back-of-house areas within the Food & Beverage division. Maintain daily check logs for all responsible areas. Job Requirements: Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role. Able to work safely, prudently, and efficiently. Possess high standards of professionalism, ethics, grooming, and attitude. Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills, capable of working under pressure. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
