Job Title: Systems Automation Engineer

We are currently seeking a service support Systems Automation Engineer with 5+ years of experience programming in PLC / HMI / and SCADA for a growing company that is one of the leading automation companies in New Zealand. You would be working for customers providing automation solutions support and small project new development solutions into industries such as dairy and water treatment. This person must be passionate about supporting automation systems through the use of PLCs, HMIs and SCADA. You will need to have demonstrated ability to provide customer systems support, maintain their operations, and lead small projects to design, develop, and deploy new products for manufacturing and process automation solutions. The person must be fully conversant with a range of electrical procedures in the field of factory automation - design, programming, commissioning, maintenance, support, troubleshooting, research, and development. Programming skills (PLC / HMI / SCADA) with a variety of PLCs such as:
  1. Rockwell - Allen-Bradly; ControlLogix / CompactLogix / MicroLogix / SLC series
  2. Schnieder M580 and M340
Experience with designing and programming HMI and SCADA systems:
  1. Rockwell FactoryTalk View SE for SCADA and ME for HMI
  2. Aveva Wonderware System Platform 2014 to 2023 and Intouch SCADA
  3. Aveva Citect SCADA
  4. SCADA Platforms - Citect, IFIX, Ignition
Experience
  1. A degree with Mechatronics courses or focus.
  2. 5+ years experience as a full-time Automation Engineer supporting systems and delivering projects that required both PLC, HMI and SCADA programming.
  3. Experience with Aveva Systems Platform - upgrades, developing new systems, working with Historian.
  4. Must have experience providing systems support and developing small projects from scratch.
  5. Experience with tools such as Telemetry Server, RTU, DNP3 protocols.
  6. Experience in the water, food, pharmaceutical or dairy industries.
  7. Experience with Rockwell and/or Schneider.
  8. Provide mentoring for junior engineers.
