Applications are invited for a temporary post of a Student Adviser within UCD Student Advisers . Student Advisers are an integral part of the UCD academic student support structure and are based within academic programmes and specific units (e.g. Postgraduate Research, Mature). They are responsible for the provision of advice, guidance and support to individual students. Having broad institutional knowledge, they also facilitate students to navigate UCD policies, procedures, services and other structures and provide students experiencing various challenges the time and space to articulate, explore and address their concerns. From routine queries to more serious matters, student advisers actively assist students in reaching informed decisions relating to their academic goals and individual needs. Student advisers work closely with academic, administrative and other support staff to respond to, refer and co-manage more challenging and complex student issues. They advocate on behalf of students when required and represent the student perspective on university committees and working groups. The person appointed will work closely within a designated academic programme(s) or specific unit and will be a member of the Student Advisory Team.
