A Project Engineer specializing in EV Charging Networks plays a vital role in the development, deployment, and supervision of infrastructure necessary for supporting electric vehicles in Qatar. This role involves electrical engineering, project management, and coordination with stakeholders to ensure the effective execution of EV charging projects.Core Responsibilities:Project Management:Plan, execute, and oversee the installation of EV charging stations.Conduct site assessments, procure necessary equipment, and coordinate with contractors and suppliers.Design and Engineering:Develop detailed electrical designs and specifications for EV charging stations.Ensure compliance with national, state, and local codes, including infrastructure cabling as per CLIENTS standards.Stakeholder Coordination:Collaborate with utility companies, government agencies, property owners, and other stakeholders to secure approvals.Ensure alignment with broader EV infrastructure goals.Technical Support:Provide technical expertise on EV charging technology, including hardware and software components.Troubleshoot and address issues with EV chargers.Cost Estimation and Budget Management:Prepare cost estimates and manage budgets to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.Regulatory Compliance:Ensure installations comply with electrical safety standards and environmental guidelines.Prepare and update regulations relevant to the EV Charging Network.Sustainability and Innovation:Stay updated on advancements in EV charging technology.Explore innovative solutions to enhance performance, reliability, and sustainability.Quality Control:Oversee installation quality to ensure high standards are met and maintained.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain comprehensive records of project plans, designs, approvals, and inspections.Prepare reports on project progress and outcomes.Support Head of EV Unit:Assist in following up on supply and installation procedures of the EV Charging Network.Supervise onsite and offsite work through hired contractors.Other Duties:Perform other related tasks as needed by the immediate supervisor.Work with Quality Assurance and Continual Improvement sections to secure and maintain ISO, Risk Management, and other certifications.Ensure compliance with CLIENTS health and safety regulations.Prepare Planning and Performance requirements for the Sector manual to meet KPIs in line with Corporate requirements.Skills & Qualifications:Educational Background: Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.Experience:Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Electrical Engineering and Electrical Installations.At least 2 years of experience in the EV charging sector or renewable energy systems.Supervisory experience is preferred.Project Management Skills:Strong organizational, planning, and coordination skills.Proven track record of managing complex projects.Technical Expertise:In-depth knowledge of electrical systems, EV charging technology, and relevant codes and standards.Problem-Solving Skills:Ability to identify and resolve technical, logistical, and operational challenges.Communication Skills:Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with team members, stakeholders, and vendors.Software Proficiency:Familiarity with design software (e.g., AutoCAD) and project management tools.Licenses and Certifications:Professional Engineer (PE) license or certification in project management (PMP) may be preferred or required.
