Job Description: To interpret and provide recommendations from integrated structural and tectonic data to De Beers Exploration to support decision making at various phases of exploration. To contribute to the continuous improvement of the application and integration of structural geology and tectonic interpretation in the Exploration environment. Functions of the role Decision making and support Provide geological insights to support Exploration decision making and make recommendations. Integrate structural interpretations with other datasets in collaboration with other specialists/stakeholders (field geologists, petrologists, mineral chemists, geophysicists, etc. as relevant) for targeting projects, active venture projects, Technical Reviews, or mine REP projects, for the construction of geological models and developing an understanding of the diamond mineral system at various scales. Continuous Improvement Assess and make recommendations regarding the generation, integration and interpretation of structural and related information, particularly with regard to the incorporation of new tools into existing workflows. Develop and maintain on-going relationships with peers to continuously identify new methodology and ideas, as well as to present recommendations for improvement or research projects Leadership and Integration Manage self to ensure continued growth and to create/use platforms whereby technical knowledge is exchanged within the wider De Beers Exploration environment. Identify appropriate resources from within the other Exploration functional areas as well as from external organisations / persons to assist and enhance the delivery of projects. Provide relevant and up-to-date technical training / guidance to appropriate exploration staff (in Technical Services or ventures) in technical or other fields of competency. Develop own basic Project Management skills. Develop data analytics / scripting skills relevant to the role.
