  Job Description R&D Test Engineer Purpose of the Job Overall responsibility for the R&D Test Engineer is to maintain the efficient operation of the RGU Application Centre and team, expansion of product and geotechnical knowledge within the company, development of testing methods for various products, analysis and interpretation of technical test data, generation of technical reports and academic papers. Maintain the company vision of technical excellence within the rock reinforcement industry. Ensure that customers receive accurate technical product information in the shortest possible timeframe. Collaboration with our Product development, Sales and Marketing teams to provide technical data differentiating our products and service offering through continuous innovation. Qualification Requirements Min Electro-Mechanical / Mechatronics/ Mechanical Knowledge & Experience 2D and 3D CAD modelling experience essential Basic knowledge of coding, ideally LabVIEW/ VBA for Excel Familiar with research methodologies and processing of quantitative data Analysis of Material Properties Technical report generation Project management of testing programs Competencies Self-managing; works well under little supervision. Highly motivated and enthusiastic. Academically inclined with an eagerness to continuously learn and develop knowledge. Confidence to question and verify information. Technically astute and detail focused. Good interpersonal skills - customer focused. Able to work comfortably in a high-paced environment. Able to manage a small team of lab technicians and assistants. Good communication skills, Comfortable with public speaking. Successfully interact with all organisational levels. Ability to assess priority levels and respond accordingly. Ability to interpret general instructions into specific task list. Diligence in completing a given task. Flexibility to adapt to a changing environment (manage multiple tasks in parallel). Responsibilities Proficient in the use of MS Office and other computer packages Ability to use Mechanical CAD systems. Administration of heavy laboratory test equipment, sample preparation and test execution. Test procedures and Scheduling tests.  Specimen Drawings, generating Bill of Materials for tests. Design of new tests. Analysis of test results and compilation of Reports. Generation of product drawings and specifications. Review of document updates. Mechanical product design and testing as required. Other reasonable responsibilities and duties requested by Manager and Executives.
