A Senior VFX Artist opportunity is available to join our client’s team in Galway, Ireland, or remotely within a European timezone, on a permanent basis. This role focuses on developing high-quality real-time visual effects for an exciting new First Person Shooter project with a major publisher. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, expertise in Unreal Engine, and a passion for delivering impactful visuals to millions of players worldwide.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality real-time visual effects for characters, weapons, environments, and gameplay.
- Optimise visual effects for performance while maintaining high visual standards.
- Manage pipelines and ensure assets are delivered on schedule.
- Collaborate with other departments to create and integrate VFX assets.
- Research and implement new techniques to improve VFX quality and efficiency.
You Have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a VFX role within the games industry.
- Expertise in Unreal Engine, including its particle systems such as Niagara.
- Proven ability to create game-ready visual effects, from concept to final setup.
- Proficiency in Photoshop or similar 2D software.
- Familiarity with 3D software such as Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender.
- A strong portfolio or demo reel showcasing your creativity and commitment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, and openness to feedback.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with shaders and materials in node-based editors like Unreal’s.
- Familiarity with Houdini for physics and dynamics simulations.
- Experience with version control systems such as Perforce.
