Then read on The opportunity: As Senior Manager, Application and Technology Partner, you will have the opportunity to define and evolve engineering standards and best practices, delivering exceptional business outcomes. You will also play a crucial role in growing the collective technical capability of our wider Technology Experience team. You will also have the opportunity to manage our application portfolio, ensuring operational performance and reliability while mitigating any support risks and security vulnerabilities. Additionally, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality engineering changes that drive our organization forward. Your role will involve maximising the benefits from these relationships, ensuring they are commercially optimised and aligned with AIA standards and practices. Key responsibilities include: Team Leadership

  • Build and maintain a community of technical professionals.
  • Support, develop and train community members to increase productivity.
  • Set up interaction and knowledge sharing processes for community members.
  • People management of the community team members including goal setting, performance reviews, development plans, recruitment and resolving any operational issues.
  • Track and control the financial expenditure of resources assigned to projects, maintain visibility of team workload and work with partners to onboard additional resource if demand requires.
  • Participate in delivery across workstreams to solve complex problems that required the highest competency level as an expert or organiser of the necessary inputs.
  • Business owner for Technology initiatives with the scope of the team.
Engineering Leadership
  • Define engineering best practice and work methodology to increase expertise and practice standardisation.
  • Develop and implement a roadmap of engineering practice continuous improvement.
  • Development measurement framework for engineering quality and proficiency for across Technology application roles and use this to drive ongoing improvement.
  • Establish processes for Technology Leads support wider team members to maintain and develop engineering practices.
Application Management
  • Technical owner for assigned systems.
  • Ensure ongoing application with BCM, security, support, license and availability standards.
  • Curate the roadmap of technology changes for applications within the team and work as the business owner through any required governance approvals prior to scheduling delivery initiatives as part of quarterly planning.
  • Ensuring ongoing knowledge depth and coverage of required applications and where required ensure knowledge transfer and sharing takes place.
  • Scope management and estimation coordination for initiatives and changes.
  • Work with wider team members to drive prioritisation decisions to achieve the best mix of feasibility, desirability and viability.
  • Work with Delivery Leads to ensure successful delivery of projects (time, budget & quality).
  • Ensure releases are well planned, structured and estimated using agile techniques.
  • Identifies and proactively resolves, and/or escalates, issues in a timely fashion.
Partner Management
  • Ensure ongoing compliance of all third-party supplier relationships.
  • Manage third party relationships to ensure contracts are optimised for AIA requirements and all committed activities are undertaken.
  • Management of third party payments and budget planning.
  • Performance manage third party delivery where required.
  • Undertake RFP and supplier evaluation processes where required.
Ideally, you’ll bring:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • Masters degree and/or additional industry qualifications desirable
  • 10+ years experience leading IT teams or engineering functions
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile project delivery methodologies
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle from concept through to final implementation
  • Understanding of relevant technology platforms and applications
  • Understand of engineering best practice
  • Understanding of User-Centered Design methods
