As a Manager- Engineering, you will be leading a technology team to build a highly scalable and extensible platform that provides the foundation for collecting, storing, modelling, and analyzing massive IoT data sets from multiple channels. This position thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys driving innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development. You should have the ability to partner with team members who have great technical depth & analytical ability to deliver customer success. This is a “work from office” role. Desired Skillset:
- 14+ year track record of relevant work experience and a degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline is required
- Dynamic leader who has directly managed team of highly competent developers & analyst in fast paced work environment
- Experience of working with agile methodologies using tools like Jira/Asana/Zoho Sprints
- Ability to roll up sleeves when required (for design, development, debugging, testing, support etc.)
- Strong communication skills – verbal & written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced start-up ecosystem
- Strong leadership skills & Strong project management skills with experience of delivering high quality projects on time. Experience on relevant tools is a must.
- Experience in building, leading & managing large multi-engineer projects and mentoring top-notch engineers in consulting companies
- Development and support experience in Web domain with experience on delivering high performance systems.
- Architecting, developing, implementing and maintaining highly available and highly scalable systems on cloud
- Experience with database modelling and development, data mining and warehousing.
- Handle budget planning, spend and tracking for your area of responsibility.
- Set up the processes and goals to enable timely delivery of projects with high quality.
- You would be required to own customer deliverables and ensure that the project schedules are in line with the expectations set to the customers.
- Identify the right talent to build the team to solve customer problems
- Build a training program to help tailor the talent for project success
- Mentor & grow Engineering team to lead up the projects.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less-experienced team members.
- First port of call for the team members.
- Management knowledge in data system development, software development, deployment. Ability to dive into details with engineers and distil to a high level for executives, customers and non-technical audience.
- Oversee Architecture & design of technically robust, flexible and scalable solutions.
- Align with Technical leadership to influence, guide & champion adoption of best practices to build scalable architecture though process.
- To be able to perceive technical objectives and be able to clearly articulate them for the team.
- Work with the team members on the detailed architecture of the proposed solution/feature and advise on best practices and direction.
- Must be hands on with a few web technologies, and be aware of the changing landscape to accommodate new ones.
- B.E. - Computer Science or equivalent
