What are we looking for? A proactive accounting professional with a passion for property accounting and corporate financial management. This role will give you hands-on experience across financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement in a supportive and dynamic environment. What are you expected to do?
Property Accounting
- Manage month-end processes, including income journals, occupancy and rate journals, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain accrual schedules and prepare Profit and Loss statements with variance commentary.
- Prepare Balance Sheet, GST, and cash flow reconciliations.
- Oversee key income and expense streams, such as letting fee income, departure cleaning expenses, and prepayment expenses.
- Assist Property Managers with account reviews, annual budgets, and forecasts.
- Deliver quarterly and annual reports for property owners, ensuring contractual obligations are met.
Corporate Accounting
- Support annual audits and fringe benefits tax return preparation.
- Conduct inter-company reconciliations and review creditor payments, trust payments, and bond refunds.
- Process corporate credit cards, including GST and GL code reviews.
- Manage debtors and provide arrears reporting.
- Provide coverage for Assistant Accountants and complete their tasks during absences.
- Handle administrative duties and ad-hoc reporting for the Finance team.
People Management
- Guide and motivate Assistant Accountants, providing training and professional development to help them achieve their potential.
Other Responsibilities
- Identify and implement system and process improvements.
- Support ad-hoc performance reporting requests from the management team.
- Provide coverage for team members and ensure adherence to Australian Accounting Standards and governance processes.
Occupational Health & Safety
- Maintain compliance with all Workplace Health & Safety legislation and company policies.

- You hold a Business (Accounting) degree or equivalent.
- You bring at least 4 years of experience in property and corporate accounting, preferably Australian or Global Accounting
- You've started or are close to achieving CA/CPA Accreditation
- You have an experience working with bank reconciliations,balance sheets, journals, profit and loss, GST and GL code reviews
- You have used accounting software like Xero or MYOB
- You're proficient in intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
- You communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
- You are customer-focused, self-motivated, and thrive in a team environment.
- You have strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- You excel at prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.

- There will be 3-4 interviews and a possible assessment from our client partner. You will undergo an initial interview, a culture interview, and 1-2 interviews with our cool client. This will run for about 1-2 weeks but we will let you know if we need to ramp it up. Be yourself and have fun.
- We will constantly communicate with you as to the development of your application. You can also directly communicate with us to ask us about the status of your application.
- If all goes well, we complete the reference check and provide other necessary requirements so we can offer you the job right away.
