We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and maintain our enterprise-level databases, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security. As the Senior Database Administrator at HCL Software, you will manage data storage and transfers, ensuring scalability, availability, and security. You’ll also collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize database performance.. Proficiency in SQL is essential, along with experience in database management, optimization, and backup solutions. Familiarity with marketing or campaign management databases is a plus. Ultimately, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the company’s data infrastructure to support our fast-paced, data-driven operations. YOUR AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY As a Senior Database Administrator, you will ensure that our database systems are running efficiently across environments, from development to production. You will drive improvements, maintain high standards, and implement best practices for optimal database performance and security. Manage and maintain high-performance databases across various environments (development, testing, production). Monitor database performance, implement optimization techniques, and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and disaster recovery capabilities. Oversee database backups, restores, and replication processes, ensuring data integrity and security. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support database-related project requirements, including design, integration, and tuning. Perform routine database maintenance, including upgrades, patches, and configuration adjustments. Develop and implement database policies, procedures, and standards, focusing on performance tuning and capacity planning. Lead efforts to enhance data storage solutions and improve operational efficiency. Provide support in data migration, ETL processes, and automation of regular tasks. Analyze and report on system health and proactively address potential issues to minimize downtime. YOUR PROFILE Several years of experience as a DBA in a complex environment. Expertise in SQL tuning, query optimization, and database performance management. Strong experience with database backup, recovery, and high-availability strategies. Proven knowledge of database security best practices. Experience with data migration, ETL processes, and automation. Ability to lead workshops and work with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decisions. Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS, Azure, etc.) is a plus.
