Job Summary The Head of Data Analytics is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and driving the organization’s data analytics vision, strategy, and execution. This individual leads a team of data professionals, leveraging data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making, optimize operations, and enhance business outcomes. Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Strategy:
  1. Define and execute the organization’s Data Analytics strategy aligned with business goals.
  2. Lead the design and implementation of analytics frameworks, processes, and tools to drive data-driven decision-making.
  3. Champion a data-driven culture across the organization, promoting the use of analytics for competitive advantage.
2. Analytics Delivery and Insights:
  1. Oversee the creation of actionable insights from complex data sets to support business decisions.
  2. Ensure the delivery of high-quality analytics solutions, including dashboards, reports, predictive models, and advanced analytics.
  3. Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis and recommend actionable strategies.
3. Team Leadership and Development:
  1. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing analytics team, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  2. Define team goals, monitor performance, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
  3. Promote innovation and the adoption of advanced analytics methodologies and tools.
4. Stakeholder Engagement:
  1. Collaborate with senior leadership to understand business challenges and translate them into analytics use cases.
  2. Act as a trusted advisor to executives, providing insights that influence strategic decisions.
  3. Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate analytics into core business processes.
5. Data Governance and Compliance:
  1. Ensure adherence to data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
  2. Safeguard data privacy and compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, POPIA).
  3. Promote data quality and integrity across all analytics initiatives.
6. Technology and Innovation:
  1. Evaluate and recommend cutting-edge analytics technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance capabilities.
  2. Drive the adoption of machine learning, AI, and other advanced techniques to deliver innovative solutions.
  3. Ensure the scalability and sustainability of analytics systems and infrastructure.

Qualifications:

Education:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or a related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
Experience:
  1. 8-12+ years of experience in data analytics or related fields, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  2. Proven track record of leading data analytics teams and delivering measurable business impact.
  3. Expertise in advanced analytics techniques, data visualization, and predictive modeling.
  4. Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and regulatory requirements.
Skills:
  1. Strategic thinking with the ability to align analytics initiatives with business objectives.
  2. Proficiency in analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), programming languages (e.g., Python, R), and big data technologies.
  3. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  4. Ability to handle ambiguity and drive innovative solutions in a dynamic environment.
