Te Taiwhenua o Heretaunga (TToH) is a Ngāti Kahungunu mandated, kaupapa Māori values-based health and social services organisation. We provide services to our community along the East Coast of the North Island, from Mahia to Remutaka. Our health, social, education and community development teams have been working successfully with whānau for over 35 years. Our Whakakitenga (Vision) is ‘Te Haaro o te Kahu ki Tauwhakarere – The Hawk sees beyond the horizon to our future’. The Role We are seeking a highly skilled and culturally adept Senior HR Advisor to join our dynamic team in a full business partnering role. This pivotal role will support our organisational growth by providing strategic and operational HR guidance and ensuring our HR practices align with kaupapa Māori principles and our organisational goals. Key Responsibilities will include:

  • HR Advisory Role: Provide expert HR advice and support to management on complex HR issues, including employee relations, performance management, and organisational development.
  • Strategic HR Leadership: Working with the GM Human Resources to develop and implement HR strategies that align with our kaupapa Māori values and long-term goals.
  • Cultural Integration: Ensure that our HR policies and practices reflect and respect Māori culture, traditions, and values.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that support the organization's objectives.
  • Lead and manage HR projects
About you We are looking for an outstanding HR practitioner who can come in an do outstanding mahi with our people leaders, will take on challenging HR projects and enjoys mentoring and developing less experienced members of the team. The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
  • Relevant HR qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Proven breadth of experience in senior HR advisory roles, including employment relations.
  • In-depth knowledge of New Zealand employment law and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of Māori culture, values, and practices OR a genuine willingness to learn.
  • Excellent leadership, mentorship and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
