Customer Service Specialist (Remote & Flexible)

Chess.sg is Singapore’s leading chess coaching provider, and we’re seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Customer Service Specialist / Administrative Coordinator to support our growing team. This role is fully remote and highly flexible but requires consistent availability for communication and prompt task execution. Expected workload is 7-10 hours per week (Equivalent to about 1 day of work per week but spread across the week). Key Responsibilities:
- Communicating with new customers via WhatsApp to understand their needs and assign chess coaches based on age, schedule, personality, and preferred lesson format.
- Scheduling first lessons between coaches and customers, with coaches taking over scheduling afterward.
- Sending reminders to coaches for scheduling lessons and important sessions, such as school CCA lessons.
- Checking incoming payments once a week, gently following up with customers for outstanding payments.
- Processing outgoing payments to freelance coaches once a week.
- Processing occasional shipments.
- Handling ad hoc tasks, such as sourcing lesson venues or assisting with chess tournament setup/teardown.
- Availability to respond to messages and queries promptly between 10 AM and 10 PM daily (average response time within 30 minutes).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to manage customer and coach interactions.
- Excellent organizational skills to handle scheduling, payments, and ad hoc tasks efficiently.
- Commitment to work flexibly for approximately 7-10 hours per week.
- Ability to commit to this role for a minimum of 1 year.
- Bonus if you play chess (but not required).
