To support this growth, our client; the public works authority; has created a number of senior management expatriate postings for urgent commencement. Our employer is looking to recruit an experienced Commercial Manager to their team to work on Local Roads and Drainage Project and to be able to add value in an advisory capacity.Reporting to the Programme Manager - Local Roads & Drainage and working as part of the Infrastructure team, your responsibilities in the role are to ensure capital works projects are managed as per commercial and financial procedures. Responsibilities include:Work collaboratively with consultants and contractors to ensure portfolio delivery within contract requirements. In particular, ensure that the firm's interests are protected, and that required reviews and approvals are scheduled and actioned.Manage commercial and contract risk across the Project portfolio, and prepare regular reports including briefing papers particularly on the status of the risk and claims mitigation.Identify and coordinate interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to ensure necessary support to enable delivery of the projects.Assist in the development of commercial / contract / procurement strategy (including potential suppliers for supply chain).Advise on suitability of contract Terms and Conditions in co-ordination with government departments.Establish Tender/Proposal milestone schedules.Support development of Tender/ Proposal documents.Review selection of proposed bidders.Review recommendation as to the preferred bidder.Essential attributes include:Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering or comparable is required with Chartered status from a recognised institution being highly regarded.A minimum of 20+ years' experience in managing the cost, financial and procurement aspects of roads and drainage projects with experience in the GCC region being highly regarded.
