As an Orthotics Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expertise in the design, fabrication, fitting, and maintenance of orthotic devices to meet the individual needs of patients with musculoskeletal conditions or injuries. You will work closely with healthcare professionals, including physicians, physical therapists, and prosthetists, to assess patient needs, develop treatment plans, and customize orthotic solutions to improve mobility, function, and quality of life.Responsibilities:Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of patients' musculoskeletal conditions, medical histories, and functional limitations to determine the appropriate orthotic interventions.Orthotic Design and Fabrication: Design and fabricate custom orthotic devices, including braces, splints, and supports, using a variety of materials and fabrication techniques to meet individual patient requirements.Orthotic Fitting: Perform precise fittings of orthotic devices, ensuring proper alignment, fit, and comfort for optimal therapeutic outcomes.Patient Education: Educate patients and their caregivers on the use, care, and maintenance of orthotic devices, including proper donning and doffing techniques, adjustment procedures, and expected outcomes.Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans and coordinate care for patients requiring orthotic interventions.Documentation: Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, device specifications, and progress notes in electronic health records (EHR) or other record-keeping systems.Quality Assurance: Adhere to established quality standards and best practices in orthotic care, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and professional guidelines.Continuous Learning: Stay abreast of advancements in orthotic technology, materials, and techniques through ongoing education, training, and professional development activities.Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their concerns, answering questions, and ensuring satisfaction with orthotic interventions.Safety and Risk Management: Follow safety protocols and infection control measures to minimize risks associated with orthotic fabrication and fitting procedures.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Orthotics and Prosthetics, Kinesiology, or a related field; certification from an accredited orthotic practitioner program required.English Proficiency is a MUST.Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in orthotics practice, including proficiency in orthotic design, fabrication, and fitting techniques.Strong knowledge of anatomy, biomechanics, and pathophysiology related to musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.Proficiency in using orthotic fabrication tools and equipment, such as vacuum formers, heat guns, and hand tools.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members.Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to customize orthotic solutions to meet individual patient needs.Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented healthcare environment.Commitment to maintaining professional competence through ongoing education and training.Compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.To apply please submit your resume to info@selectivetouch.saJob FeaturesJob Category: Orthotist
