Our competitive advantage allows us to consistently design and implement innovative mechanical and electrical systems for commercial, institutional, light industrial, and mixed-use residential and commercial buildings of all types and sizes, as well as engineering advocacy, expert testimony, sustainability and specialized studies.In your new role with GWAL, you will work under the direct supervision of a Senior Engineer and be accountable to:Liaising with client & other consultants to determine project's scope, under supervision of senior Engineer/Designer.Documenting and communicating project's scope to in-house design team members.Coordinating electrical requirements with senior mechanical Engineer/Designer.Coordinating with client, architect, interior designer and other consultants.Respecting project schedule.Ensuring plans and specifications conform to applicable codes, good engineering practice and project scope.Participating in maintaining firm's quality standard.Preparing drawings using office CAD system.Managing/coordinating multiple projects.Performing load calculations.Preparing detailed design layout.Reviewing project documentation.Participating in design review meetings.Construction administration and site review.Obtaining stamp and signature from signing engineer.Assisting senior to monitor and control in-house costs and compare to project budget.What you'll need to succeedDegree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering/Technology or similar fieldPrevious experience in building services would be a huge asset!Solid experience with AutoCAD and/or RevitValid PSPC Security Clearance or the ability to attain itProblem solving and critical thinking abilitiesStrong understanding of Acts, Codes and Engineering PracticesWell developed understanding of theories and principlesProficient skills in Tools, Methods, Techniques and Practices of the industryWhat you'll get in returnCompetitive salary and benefits but more importantly the opportunity to work for a leader in Engineering, project diversity, and a recently awarded Best Workplace in Canada!
