We are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to play a crucial role in the successful delivery of services and projects, with responsibilities in managing the quantification and costing related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within budget and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in quantity surveying, strong leadership skills, and a track record of successful project delivery. Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee all aspects related to the quantity surveying process, including cost reporting/control, procurement, and contract management.
  • Lead contract administration (pre/post contract).
  • Manage the Payment Application process and reporting.
  • Manage and report variations, including preparation of related variation logs.
  • Experience in change control management.
  • Supervise and review the tender process, tender qualification, award, and advise clients on the best tender/procurement routes.
  • Identify potential disputes in a timely manner (during pre/post contract stages) and enable the introduction of effective solutions.
  • Exposure to legal and financial terms related to construction/projects.
  • Ensure that business commercial processes are adhered to at the project level.
  • Experience in reviewing and advising on Extension of Time Claims as to the quantum part and cost heads.
  • Prepare comprehensive and accurate financial reports, cost forecasts, and budget updates for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure that quantity surveying processes align with industry best practices and quality standards.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior quantity surveyors, supporting their professional development.
  • B.Sc. in Quantity Surveying from an accredited university or related field; further studies are desirable.
  • Significant experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a focus on high-value and complex projects.
  • Professional membership in a relevant body (e.g., RICS) is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in a related field.
  • Awareness of managing Standard Form of Contract, such as FIDIC, NEC, or JCT.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills; fluent in spoken and written English.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills; able to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising standards.
