Are you ready to spread some joy? Volunteer visitors bring companionship and a friendly chat to older folks in Taupō, Turangi, and Tokoroa who might be feeling a little lonely or isolated.
- You’ll be matched with an awesome older person and visit for about an hour each week—your chats and visits will make a real difference in their happiness and well-being, and you’ll find it’s just as rewarding for you too!
- Ongoing support and training from our Age Concern Coordinator
- The chance to meet and connect with other amazing volunteers at support meetings
- Petrol vouchers every December as a little thank you!
- It’s a feel-good experience for everyone involved—come make a difference and brighten someone’s day!
- Warm, friendly, and enjoy the company of older people
- Respectful of confidentiality and open to different cultures
- Able to commit to about an hour a week on a regular basis
- Good listening skills and empathy with older folks
- Age Concern will be notified, and the Coordinator will reach out via email as soon as possible.
