Role Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Investment Banker or Fundraising Specialist to join our team, focused on financing and investment opportunities within the energy transition sector. This role involves developing and executing strategic capital-raising initiatives, establishing strong relationships with investors, and driving funding for projects and companies that support sustainable energy solutions. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in finance, extensive experience with private sector fundraising, and a passion for contributing to the growth of the renewable energy and sustainability industries. Key Tasks and Accountability: · Capital Raising: Lead capital-raising efforts for energy transition projects, including renewable energy, energy storage, and carbon reduction initiatives, by structuring and sourcing equity, debt, and other forms of financing. · Investor Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with institutional investors, private equity, venture capital firms, and other stakeholders interested in sustainable investment. · Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and industry analysis to identify emerging trends, new investment opportunities, and strategic partnerships within the energy transition sector. · Financial Modeling & Analysis: Develop detailed financial models, projections, and valuations for potential projects, assessing risks, returns, and the financial viability of opportunities. · Deal Structuring: Negotiate and structure complex investment deals, ensuring alignment with client and investor goals and adhering to regulatory and compliance requirements. · Strategic Advisory: Advise clients on capital structure, funding options, and investment strategies to optimize financial outcomes and support sustainable growth. · Due Diligence: Lead due diligence processes, including analyzing project feasibility, assessing risk factors, and reviewing legal, technical, and financial documentation. · Presentation & Reporting: Prepare and deliver presentations, investment memos, and regular reports to update stakeholders on fundraising progress, market dynamics, and financial performance. Requirements: · Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. CA/CFA/MBA or similar certifications are preferred. · Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years in investment banking, fundraising, corporate finance, or a related field, with a focus on the energy transition, renewable energy, or sustainability sectors. · Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the energy transition landscape, including renewable energy technologies, carbon capture, storage solutions, and clean tech investments. · Financial Acumen: Advanced knowledge of financial modelling, valuation, and analysis; proficiency with financial software and tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg). · Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyse complex financial and market data, identify trends, and propose strategic financing solutions. · Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and persuasively. · Negotiation Skills: Proven track record of structuring and closing investment deals, with strong negotiation skills. · Network: Established network of investors, lenders, and stakeholders in the private sector, preferably in the sustainable finance or energy transition industry. Preferred Qualifications: · Prior experience in sustainability or impact investing. · Knowledge of ESG frameworks and compliance requirement. · Familiarity with government incentives and subsidies for renewable energy projects Personal Attributes: · A team player with good interpersonal skills and problem-solving abilities. · A self-motivator and a collaborative team player. · Excellent time management skills and the ability to assume leadership roles when necessary. · Agile, action oriented and a quick learner. · Out of box thinker.
