Job Purpose Summary:The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the Corporate Planning, Performance & IR Manager for the management and organization of the corporate planning function of the company, including long term business planning, strategic planning and analysis, sensitivity & ad hoc analysis for credit metrics and capital allocation purposes. He/She will also perform evaluation of investment proposals and investment performance, support relevant committees, senior management and shareholders in decision making. The Financial Planning & Analysis Senior Expert will also ensure provision of accurate information to investors and support other investor relations activities. He/She will discharge his/her responsibilities under the coordination and supervision of the Corporate Planning, Performance & IR Manager.Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:Support Direct Supervisor and other team members in managing the company's long term business planning and defining business planning guidelines, timeline, key assumptions and standard templates. Develop and maintain business plan booklet and other related documentation.Develop policies and procedures for planning with the aim of enhancing standards and increasing accuracy and efficiency of the finance planning process in coordination with the function manager and other team members.Perform business plan sensitivities and ad hoc analysis for credit metrics review and capital allocation purposes.Under guidance and supervision of the function manager, develop and implement early warning systems that will help the Executive Team in detecting and handling matters of strategic matters.Evaluate investment performance against base case and provide detailed insights to the finance leadership, the executive management and board, as may be required.Analyze expected returns and financial compatibility of investment proposals and formulate recommendations for the relevant authorization bodies. Support investment assurance and capital allocation regarding proposed projects.Prepare investment evaluation reports highlighting the reasons for deviation by key drivers.Provide support to Business Development function during pre-development or pre-acquisition phase (i.e. due diligence process, business evaluation, competitive bidding, financial model review, etc.) and during the post-acquisition/integration phase for the implementation of policies, processes and systems in line with the company's strategic planning guidelines.Perform and/or coordinate internal and external benchmarking analysis and special projects aimed at improving operational efficiency of the asset portfolio managed by the Group and for value creation purposes.Prepare valuations for the Group or individual assets by using various techniques and methodologies (DCF, Comps, sum of the parts etc.)Prepare useful information and reports for the finance & planning leadership and executive management, for example, return on investment, cash flow from investees, liquidity matrix, capital structure, etc.Assist the function manager with ad hoc projects and other requests.Prepare information reports for filing and provide other support for investor relations.Support credit rating review with the agencies. Liaise with other functions to procure required information for the annual review exercise.Assist in coordinating with the internal and external auditors and provide all required information to the concerned parties to facilitate the preparation of internal and external audit reports, respectively.Education/Experience Requirements:Essential:University degree in Accounting, Finance and/or Business Administration from a recognized University.Preferred:Masters in Finance and/or Business Administration from a recognized Management School.Required Special Skills:Essential:Minimum of 6 years of experience in financial planning and analysis of which 3 years should be in a similar position/responsibility.Minimum of 3 years of Financial Modelling experienceFamiliarity with ERP systems (Oracle preferably)Strong knowledge of planning and management reporting systems (Oracle preferably)Preferred:Minimum of 3 years exposure to global power/water/renewable sectorsExposure to international companies with large complexity and to multicultural environmentsKnowledge and/or exposure to Qatar or other Gulf regions.
