Head of Accounting

Job description

The purpose of this function is to oversee all activities of the accounting team (including all fiscal aspects). Responsibilities include overseeing and managing general accounting activities (including monthly financial closings and consolidations), financial analysis, maintaining effective internal controls (Internal Control Framework), and maintaining the relationship with the external auditor and external tax advisors. Also, the Head of Accounting ensures that all regulatory reporting requirements are implemented and adhered to throughout the organization (including foreign subsidiaries).

The Head of Accounting reports directly to the Chief Finance Officer and plays a crucial role in maintaining effective internal controls and statutory compliance.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Leadership/supervisory role:

Lead the accounting team, oversee the financial departments/external accountants of Julius Clinical affiliates and foreign entities acquired through M&A processes

Oversees accounts payable and receivable processes and ensures compliance with the cash management policy

Responsible for set-up and execution of risk management policies and procedures and updating these on a regular basis

Responsible for interim and year-end audit by the external auditor

Supports talent development and continuous improvement of financial department

Policy making:

Creating and improving financial policies and procedures, implementation of efficiencies

Make sure the department is compliant with current laws and legislations

Is abreast of new laws and legislations on reporting obligations and implements those

Makes sure the consistency and accuracy of procedures is followed

Leads compliance of internal company policy and financial guidelines for the Holdco

Maintains effective internal controls (Internal Control Framework)

Collaboration:

Internal and external stakeholder management

Collaboration with senior staff of external accountants and management of relationships

Helps making decisions on financial processes and procedures for all financial departments of the Holdco

Other:

Is responsible for the consolidation of all Julius Clinical Holdco entities

Support monthly payroll

We ask

Certified public accountant (RA)

At least 10 years' experience in financial, accounting field, ideally this would include at least 5 years in a comparable line management position

Experience in an international holding setting

Excellent communication and influencing skills

Fluent in English

Experienced in stakeholder management

Strong analytical, problem solving, decision making, planning and organisational skills

Hands-on mentality

Demonstrated focus on effectiveness and delivery
