Supply Chain Director

Job Specification (not totally inclusive) Providing leadership and direction to the Supply Chain department, develop and execute corporate purchasing strategy and ensure that raw material, packaging materials, expense items etc. are sourced and procured effectively.

Minimum Skills Required

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
2. 12+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management role within Manufacturing/Engineering/Mining environment of which five years must have been occupying senior management role.
3. Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS).
4. Must have good understanding and working knowledge of BBBEE and Mining Charter.
5. High level of experience and understanding of the latest supply chain concepts and methodologies across a range of disciplines such as material management, logistics warehousing and distribution, and purchasing management.
6. Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing processes and methods including Kanban, value stream mapping, visual controls, and performance system.
7. A comprehensive understanding of full supply chain principles and methodology required to support the business.
8. SAP R/3 and proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
9. Must have valid driver’s license and own reliable transport.
