General Description of Role and Responsibilities:
- Draft, evaluate, and negotiate contracts (various: including formal short form and annual contracts).
- Review nondisclosure agreements, sales/purchasing agreements, subcontracts, consulting agreements, licensing agreements, master agreements, and customer proposed terms and conditions.
- Serve as the point of contact for customers on contractual matters, acting as a contractual middleman between company employees and customers to ensure timely review and approval/reconciliation of variations.
- Provide redlined recommendations on all standard and nonstandard contracts and negotiate directly with customer attorneys or purchasing staff until consensus is reached.
- Maintain contractual records and documentation, including receipt and control of all contract correspondence, customer information sheets, contractual changes, status reports, and other documents for all projects.
- Guide project managers or other operational staff on contract matters, including training new project managers and employees in contracting practices and procedures.
- Develop and implement procedures for contract management and administration in compliance with company policy; contribute to or influence company policies as appropriate.
- Monitor compliance by company employees with established procedures and identify areas of recurrent pressure.
- Work with the risk management department/finance to coordinate contractual insurance requirements.
- Handle ongoing issue and change management.
- Monitor transaction compliance (milestones, deliverables, invoicing, etc.).
- Oversee service level agreement compliance.
- Ensure contract closeout, extension, or renewal.
- Stay informed of relevant Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures in place within Hill International and ensure continued compliance while employed by Hill.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
- A degree/diploma in an Engineering discipline is required.
- RICS or similar certifications preferred.
- 15-20 years of experience working on multi-million dollar projects within the construction field.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Demonstrates determination, desire to succeed, and a wish to progress and develop within a commercial role.
- Excellent working knowledge of Word, Excel, and strong user skill level within MS Office or Primavera.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
