Sagen Advisory Specialized Financial Recruitment Company is currently seeking an adept Accountant for a well-known wine estate group. This position plays a vital role in delivering accounting assistance to the Group Accountant within the esteemed wine estate conglomerate.This Job Opportunity is great for a person who:Possess a B Com (Financial Management) or equivalent commerce degree.Hold 1-2 years of experience in a commercial role.Is well groomed, sophisticated, professional, articulate, and able to take accountability for their work.Can take guidance and work well with other people.Is independent in taking initiative and can take accountability for their work.Thrives in a professional environment.Is a wine and food enthusiast.This role is designed to provide essential accounting support to the Group Accountant at the renowned wine estate group.Reporting Line: The selected candidate will report directly to the Group Accountant.Key Responsibilities:Manage intercompany invoicing among various Group entities.Process invoices from P2P, Woolworths, international agents, and suppliers, while performing set-off journal entries against corresponding Debtors. Responsible for reconciliations of associated Customer/Supplier Ledgers.Handle invoicing for Capital sales, bulk wine, and grape sales.Execute general journal entries in Pastel Evolution for the entire group.Perform weekly bank transaction processing and monthly bank account reconciliations.Prepare monthly Sales Reports for the Group.Complete Reserve Bank quarterly reports and annual reports for Stats SA.Generate Pastel Evolution Reports for other departments upon request.Responsible for reconciling fixed asset registers across the Group and executing depreciation/amortization journal entries.Assist in preparing the documentation required by auditors for the annual audits of the Group.Contribute to balance sheet reconciliations.Manage all foreign supplier invoices, including payments and set-offs.Provide support to the Group Accountant and Financial Manager for various ad-hoc financial tasks.Competencies:Planning & Organising:Demonstrates diligence in follow-ups and ensures timely completion of tasks.Structures work logically and efficiently, executing with precision.Teamwork:Takes ownership of issues and sees them through to resolution.Considers the broader implications of decisions made.Acts as a supportive team player, contributing to the achievement of team objectives.Accuracy, Quality & Productivity:Delivers accurate and error-free outputs.Adheres to deadlines consistently.Problem-Solving / Decision-Making:Takes ownership of issues and follows through to the point of resolution.Technical Knowledge:Keeps abreast of current technical knowledge relevant to the role. Remuneration:R 22 000 - R32 000 pm depending on experience.
