As the National Sales Manager - US & Canada, you will lead a dynamic sales and service team of over 80 field sales colleagues across two countries.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to dramatically influence Chemetall/BASF's overall success by driving growth and developing our salesforce while also aligning with other commercial and functional managers in improving our customer-facing efforts as well as our internal "ways of working".

With all other teams (e.g., Customer Care, Supply Chain) to help make our salesforce more efficient and continuously improve customer satisfaction.
Push usage of and improvements in our digital platform - Sales Force and Power BI - with an ability to understand and develop trackable, repeatable sales processes.
Lead, train, and practice the "Counselor Salesperson" methodology. (External candidates will be trained as part of onboarding)
Ensure Account Management best practices are achieved:
Set repeatable high standards for our salesforce around key daily tasks, e.g., line audits, program administration manuals, service visit documentation, Target Account Selling principles (organizational charts).
Participate in key meetings with large customers, e.g., business reviews, contract negotiations, sales proposals.
Initiate regular sales pipeline reviews with sub-regions, districts, and territories.
Guide district managers and sales reps through the development and updates to roadmaps for each of the individual sales territories.
Lead the annual budget and target-setting processes.
Ingredients for Success:
Bachelor's degree is required.
5+ year experience in sales management.
Strategic vision and thinking.
Participation in and driving of strategic initiatives.
Conflict resolution, strong negotiation skills.
Team Leader, ability to motivate and lead a large team of technical and sales professionals.
Coaching and people development, including sales and technical skill development.
Demonstrated leadership and people management skills.
Communication skills with an ability to drive messages down multiple levels in an organization.
Commercial expertise.
Technical understanding of our products and industries we serve.
Ability to manage wide range of priorities.
Collaborative mindset to work with other functions and teams.
