We are seeking the skills of a highly capable and driven senior leader to take their segments of our endorsed strategic plan and turn them into reality. With a rich history comes big legacy, we are modernising our function with a commercially astute and customer centric approach to ensure we are always NZ's #1 delivery partner for e-commerce. This role is a gold mine for a strategic data champion. The purpose of this role is to unlock the untapped potential in NZ Post's data; to create the vision, define the strategy, and execute the plan to ensure data is central to the choices we make and the plans we create. We are on a journey to leverage our data to digitise our supply chain and transport logistics processes. We want to accelerate our development of predictive and insightful analytics that support our growth strategy. The successful candidate for this role will be a data guru, able to energise and enable teams of data experts, plus ensure effective interaction with interlocking teams, to deliver a data ecosystem which will use data to drive our strategic agenda. This is a real opportunity to take one of NZ's largest data platforms which is still to be fully digitised and turn it into an end to end visual. To top it off, this role is also responsible for our Enterprise Architecture (EA) function. Given the natural synergies between data and architecture, leadership of our EA function will ensure data is considered in all aspects of future Architecture within our organisation. It's easy to see that you're a data champion and have led data practices which have been on a similar journey as ours. Our organisation is vast and complex, your career history will clearly articulate that you've led practices within comparable environments to our own with success. Engaging and articulate communication skills will also be a superpower. Your ability to cross between technical and non-technical environments will be easy to see. Coupled with your extensive experience working with Data Integration, Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence programs. You'll be able to clearly articulate the following skills and experience:

  • Extensive experience operating at senior leadership level within a large data driven transformation environments.
  • Experience in delivering value from business intelligence, big data analytics, statistical methods and machine learning techniques in products or services businesses.
  • Highly capable people leadership skills with the ability to inspire and energise.
  • Effective stakeholder management skills within both technical and non-technical settings.
  • Strong quantitative modelling skills and expertise using data mining and statistical analyses at scale to coach and guide people at all levels of an organisation.
  • Proven Data Governance track record with an emphasis on data protection, privacy, policies, standards, and processes design, administration, and compliance monitoring.
