The Lunch Bag, Ireland's leading provider of school meals, is growing its Food Safety Team and is offering an exciting opportunity for a Quality Officer. This role is perfect for someone looking to make an impact in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. As a key member of the team, you will support the Food Safety & Quality Manager in maintaining our high standards of food safety and quality, ensuring that every school meal we deliver meets regulatory requirements and customer expectations.At The Lunch Bag, we're passionate about revolutionising the school meals industry by providing nutritious, varied meals to over 100,000 children every day across Ireland. This role is central to our commitment to delivering the best quality food to schools, contributing to a mission that supports children's health and wellbeing for generations to come.Key Responsibilities: HACCP & Regulatory Compliance: Support the implementation of HACCP and food safety regulations, ensuring that all necessary records are completed and up-to-date. ISO 22000 Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the ISO 22000 Food Safety Management System to ensure compliance and continual improvement of food safety processes. Customer Complaint Investigation: Assist in investigating customer complaints and implementing corrective and preventative actions to improve food safety and quality. Daily Site Checks: Conduct daily Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) checks and ensure that hygiene standards are consistently adhered to across the site. Record Review & Improvement: Review line records for accuracy and provide feedback to team members and line leads, promoting continuous improvement across the operation. Documentation Management: Manage all documentation in line with ISO 22000 standards, updating records and procedures as needed. Support Best Practices: Work with Team Leads, Line Leads, and Operators to foster a culture of excellence in food safety and quality practices. Kelsius Platform Management: Manage the Kelsius platform to monitor daily quality records, traceability, and temperature controls. Deputise for Quality Manager: Step in for the Quality Manager when necessary, ensuring that food safety and quality standards are maintained seamlessly. The Ideal Candidate: Diploma in Food Science or an equivalent qualification. Experience in a quality assurance role within the food industry. Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams. A proactive and self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys a challenge. A passion for maintaining and improving food safety standards.
