FRS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician / Biomedical Engineer to join a busy team within healthcare services in Kilkenny. As a Engineering Technician / Biomedical Engineer you will provide support to all medical devices including diagnostic, analytical, therapeutic, surgical, and life support systems. You will also ensue that biomedical equipment is safe, accurate, and reliable. Collaboration with the wider healthcare professional team, in the provision, delivery, and advancement of patient care. RESPONSIBILITIES: Operational/Professional Duties: Provide routine service, calibration, performance testing and electrical safety testing of biomedical assets/equipment in both workshops and at the point of equipment use Provide a comprehensive maintenance and repair service of biomedical equipment to relevant standards and appropriate records are properly and accurately maintained at all times. Provide front line support for hardware and software issues on biomedical assets. Maintenance of proper stock levels of spare parts and consumables Administration, Retain all records regarding maintenance of medical equipment ie: financial dealings within the department, ordering of equipment, parts and repairs. Strategic and Developmental duties: Ensure technical knowledge is up-to-date at all times with new developments in the field of biomedical engineering.. Attend all relevant training courses including specific technical training courses as defined by line management or designated person. Quality, Risk Assessment & Compliance duties Ensure adherence to HIQA standards, fostering a culture of quality improvement Conduct risk assessments, safety checks and comply with safety standards, contributing to a safe environment for patients and staff. REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience within Biomedical Engineering Fields is a requirement Experience working with Electronic, Mechanical and Electro - Medical equipment is a requirement Familiar with health and dafety awarness, regulations and procedures Ability to solve problems and make decisions in a timely manner. Ability to provide a professional, quality service for clinical systems with regard to medical equipment performance and safety Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills Must have advance computer skills and proficient operation of Microsoft Office suite.
