Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for independently performing Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and corrective/reactive maintenance on diesel engines and associated equipment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the field and a strong background in mechanical engineering. Key Responsibilities:
  • Independently conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on diesel engines and related systems.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in diesel engines and other heavy machinery.
  • Perform routine inspections and assessments to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and repairs performed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of maintenance tasks.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices, safety protocols, and technical advancements.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics as needed.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in an industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and related mechanical components.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Additional Information

  • Experience with fleet maintenance or heavy machinery.
