We are looking to hire Senior Engineer, Planning.This job role is to ensure the role holder is responsible for applying project control practices to plan, monitor, and control project engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategic impact.Job PurposeThe Senior Engineer, Planning will be responsible for but not limited to:Establishing a comprehensive timeline for engineering deliverables by scheduling each activity in reverse chronological order, ensuring alignment with the projected construction start dates across different blocks.Creating the project's engineering plan and ensuring clarity and consistency in the project's engineering planning, sequencing, and methodology.Collaborating with project engineering managers (PEM) and operations planning and control to communicate construction methods and potential impacts on project execution and duration.Creating and updating the engineering schedule, including progress tracking and analytical reporting.Illustrating project engineering schedule via a time-scaled bar chart, utilizing Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling tools.Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative tools to monitor and control engineering project activities.Establishing critical project activities, setting baseline progress on an S-curve, and overseeing periodic reports.Generating the Engineering Manpower Histogram to manage project staffing effectively.Establishing the Project Engineering Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).Developing and providing realistic conceptual schedules and resource plans for all projects.Performing risk management on all project plans/schedules.Monitoring day-to-day work progress for a project and providing accurate weekly and monthly reports by swiftly communicating potential progress delays or project slippages.Identifying and managing deviations from conceptual project plans and performance requirements, taking necessary action, and communicating to PEM.Evaluating project schedule progress and performance and identifying developing problem areas.Ensuring compliance with all applicable information security policies and procedures.Ensuring quality and accuracy of the engineering deliverables for the discipline and compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) responsibilities.Working RelationshipsInternal Interactions:Internal Engineering Department, other business work-streams within the company, Division Heads, Engineering Manager, GM Engineering, VP Engineering.External Interactions:Engineering Subcontractors, Consultants, Planning and Schedule related.Who We Are Looking ForEducation:Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.Experience:At least 9-15 years in a project planning role in the rig building/ship building industry or equivalent.Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations):Preferred - any additional certification courses in Project Management and Planning.Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):Working experience in engineering project control with a background in planning (both schedule and cost).Exposure to planning software like PRIMAVERA / MS PROJECT.Expert knowledge in MS EXCEL.Good understanding of engineering processes and ERP system.Ability to understand & work through complex planning issues in support of ever-evolving business needs.Excellent communication skills (oral & written) in the English language.Demonstrated high order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment.Good presentation skills.Project management principles.Different project execution strategies.Estimation and cost control.Construction management principles.Understanding the total value chain of the business on projects.Competent in problem-solving, negotiation, and facilitation in a project environment.Cost estimating analytical techniques.Languages:English (Mandatory)Arabic / Others (desirable)About Application ProcessIf you meet the criteria and you are enthusiastic about the role, we would welcome your application.
