This Associate position is a newly created position and will have a role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of a newly established Fund Expense Management function.This Fund Expense Management function will implement Carne’s global programme oversight of Fund Expenses in accordance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will report to the Head of Fund Expense Management Function, based in Ireland. The global function may support activities serviced by Carne in Ireland, UK, Luxembourg, Channel Islands and Switzerland. This role requires strong ownership of personal responsibilities and deliverables. The role will involve a high level of interaction with internal teams and external delegates. This Associate role is an excellent opportunity to develop knowledge of management company operations and enhance career development opportunities. Who are we looking for? The ideal candidate would have existing experience in fund operations – preferably in fund expenses either in management company, fund administrator or depositary roles. What are the minimum Requirements you need for the role?- A recognised professional or third level qualification, relevant to the role. A qualification in business, accounting, finance, data analytics or similar is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience working in the asset management industry.
- Proficient in MS Office applications.
- Prior knowledge of Funds structures, fund expense oversight or other fund operations would be a distinct advantage.
- Some existing knowledge of funds and/or Management Company activities including UCITS and AIFMD regulations.

- Implement consistent global model where appropriate
- Perform day to day duties to ensure the funds under management meet regulatory requirements in each of the relevant jurisdictions.
- Develop SME role for oversight of fund costs.
- Ensure familiarity with regulatory requirements and potential changes in each of the relevant jurisdictions and to ensure regulatory compliance on an ongoing basis.
- Working with internal stakeholders such as oversight, client relationship managers, compliance and senior management to ensure regulatory & governance requirements are adhered to.
- Support team to coordinate issues with internal operational teams and escalate matters , in accordance with internal escalation policies.
- Perform duties to include Fund expense analysis, budget reviews, market and peer analysis, performance fee reviews, market comparisons and TER/Ongoing Charges analysis and other related tasks.
- Prepare internal MIS, KPIs or other reporting as required.
- Foster a positive team ethic and support the development and training of staff, when required.
