Principal Software Engineer – Galway/Hybrid Our client, a leading provider of financial services, seeks to hire an experienced Principal Software Engineer to work within a team of engineers to develop quality applications servicing the financial industry. You will have the opportunity to work on high value products that support customers globally in providing excellent financial solutions. Requirements:
- Minimum 5+ years of application design & development experience across:
- Angular (or similar Javascript framework)
- Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Tomcat
- Relational Databases (ideally Oracle)
- Experience with build, continuous integration, and delivery (CI/CD) processes and tools (e.g. Git, Jenkins, etc)
- Expertise with Test Automation Tools and Frameworks e.g. Cucumber, Cypress
- Experience of Agile development practices and the value they bring to development teams
- Experience providing technical leadership to a team; part of the decision-making process in technical/architectural designs, setting and driving standards & practices and providing mentorship/coaching.
- Experience of building new services & applications on cloud platforms, as well experience migrating existing distributed applications on to a cloud platform
- You are passionate about your craft and are committed to developing and learning using the latest technologies and frameworks.
- Produce high-quality code, with high test coverage, following company processes, standards, and methodologies.
- Ensuring systems in your assigned area are robust, resilient, and stable.
- You will ensure the end-to-end delivery of requirements or user stories meets the needs and expectations of business partners.
- Mentoring of junior team members.
- Work with a multi-functional team to understand project objectives, use cases and systems design requirements.
- Development of original and creative/innovative technical solutions.
