The Role We are looking for a senior software engineer, specializing in front-end web development to join our growing Imago teams to help deliver solutions that make the world a better place. You'll play a crucial role in developing our market-leading eco-system of solutions, Imago & Seequent Evo. As part of our Imago front-end team, you will work with WebGL canvas manipulation, Ember forms, React design systems and wider front-end experiences. Empowering customers to visualize the petabytes of raw data they have today and to draw insights and support decision-making on the rapidly iterating, industry leading, machine learning capabilities we’re delivering for Imago. Ensuring a growing bar in quality and modernization of the application and mentor and grow those around you. This is a great opportunity to join our four-person front-end Imago team, collaborating closely with three other Imago teams and our wider Evo development teams here in the Christchurch office (hybrid), along with our team of amazing and passionate engineers spread around the globe here at Seequent! In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Design and develop sophisticated software applications, components, and modules that push the boundaries of technology.
  • Leverage cutting-edge modelling techniques to adhere to top-tier software design standards, guidelines, patterns, and methodologies.
  • Create and communicate diverse design perspectives to address stakeholders' concerns while meeting both functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Create models, simulations, and prototypes of software behaviour to gain stakeholder approval and ensure smooth construction, verifying designs with advanced methods.
  • Mentor and guide fellow software engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
In order to be successful in this role, you should have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years working with web SPA’s: React, Angular, Ember.
  • Experience with or curiosity to learn the following tools: Typescript, Kubernetes, PixiJS.
  • Experience working with cloud providers like Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD Pipelines (i.e. GitHub, Gitlab, etc.).
