  1. Document Preparation and Management: Draft, edit, and proofread legal documents such as contracts, agreements, pleadings, motions, and briefs. Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are up to date and easily accessible. Assist in the preparation and filing of court documents, both electronically and physically.
  2. Legal Research: Conduct legal research using online databases and law libraries to gather information relevant to cases. Summarize findings and present them to attorneys to assist in case preparation and strategy.
  3. Case Management: Track case deadlines, manage calendars, and ensure all necessary tasks are completed on time. Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and trials. Prepare case summaries and assist in the organization of evidence and exhibits.
  4. Client Interaction: Serve as a point of contact for clients, responding to inquiries and providing updates on case progress. Assist in the preparation of client correspondence, ensuring professionalism and accuracy. Help maintain client relationships by ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed promptly.
  5. Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the legal team, including managing phone calls, emails, and other correspondence. Maintain and update the law firm’s or department’s database and document management systems. Assist with billing and invoicing processes, tracking billable hours and preparing invoices for clients.
  6. Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior legal assistants and paralegals. Assist in training new staff members on legal processes, procedures, and best practices.
  7. Record-Keeping: Ensure compliance with legal procedures and court requirements. Maintain accurate records of legal transactions, ensuring confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
  8. Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, including organizing exhibits, preparing trial notebooks, and coordinating witnesses. Attend trials and hearings to provide support to attorneys, taking notes and managing documents as needed.
  9. Liaison Duties: Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, courts, and other parties involved in legal proceedings. Coordinate with external vendors, such as court reporters and transcription services.
