Job Title: Software Development ManagerLocation: Bristol + Hybrid Working Arrangements Compensation: Competitive Salary + Benefits Role Type: Full time/Permanent Role ID: SF59187At Babcock we're working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Software Development Manager at our Babcock Technology Centre site.The roleAs a Software Development Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where will have the opportunity to play a key role in supporting the Royal Navy's applications to ensure timely software deliveries.Day-to-day, you'll lead and manage our software development team and help us continue to grow our business and contribute to our goal.Lead and manage one of the organisations Software Development teams focused on creating and maintaining software applications using Microsoft Technologies and Oracle Back End systems.Oversee the end-to-end software development life cycle, from initial planning, requirement analysis, estimation, and design to development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.Collaborate and partner with cross-functional teams including project managers, architects, test, business analysts, infrastructure, and service team to deliver software solutions on time, within scope and budget.Manage the demands for bug fixing, system enhancements including continuous application development and changes resulting from technology refresh.Ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including Agile methodologies and ensure high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements.This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.Essential experience of the Software Development ManagerSignificant experience in software development, with a strong focus on Microsoft TechnologiesSignificant experience in .NET, C#, API development and integration, SQL ServersExperience with Agile development methodologyExperience working as a Senior or Principal Software Engineer with proven experience of setting the software Development strategiesQualifications for the Software Development ManagerWe value difference and don't have a fixed idea when it comes to background or education, provided you can show the required level of experience and/or willingness to learn then we would like to hear from you.Security ClearanceThe successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.Many of the positions within our company are subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
