About the Job: An opportunity has arisen for a Junior Sommelier to join the F&B Team in Burj Al Arab Jumeirah. The main duties and responsibilities of this role: Support the Sommelier in offering guests a world-class wine experience. Provide a friendly, courteous and professional service to guests and colleagues. Ensure the wine list is up to date with correct vintages and prices. Ensure all the wines are stored properly in the cellar. Ensure mise-en-place and correct stock levels of wine are in place before each service. Support sales and ensure relevant and appropriate suggestions for wine. Ensure 100% contribution to LQA and Forbes standards. Report feedback and suggestions to the Sommelier and Outlet manager. About you: The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role in a luxury 5-star hotel or a restaurant. WSET Level-2 or equivalent degree. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, Micros and Sevenrooms. Clear and effective communication skills in English, proficiency in at least one of the following languages preferred: Arabic, Chinese, Russian or any European language.
