In this role, youll guide a small finance team and play an essential part in senior management, taking a hands-on approach while working in a friendly, supportive environment where everyone contributes. Key Responsibilities Team Management: Oversee and support a three-person accounts team, fostering a positive, productive environment. Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly management accounts, detailed analysis reports, and handle annual financial audits. Project Cost System: Manage and monitor project costs and expenses using Coretime, ensuring accuracy in cost tracking and reporting. Payroll Processing: Process monthly payroll for 90-100 staff members, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Bank and Revenue Management: Conduct bank reconciliations, manage statutory and statistical returns, and maintain compliance with revenue reporting. General Office Support: Engage in various office duties, assisting the team as needed to maintain smooth operations. Requirements Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered. Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of experience as a Financial Controller within Ireland or Europe, specifically in the construction or engineering industry. Industry Expertise: Solid background in financial management within construction or engineering environments is required; candidates who have shifted from industry to practice and wish to return to industry are encouraged to apply. Accounting Knowledge: Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance specific to Ireland or Europe. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel) and experience with project accounting software; familiarity with Coretime is a plus. Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead a finance team, providing guidance while actively contributing to daily operations. Analytical Skills: Demonstrated strength in financial analysis and strategic reporting, with a track record of supporting senior management through clear financial insights.
