Job Title: Senior Estimator – progressing to Estimating Manager Location: Melbourne Salary: $220K package Our client is a leading national fit out & interior construction specialist with an incredible track record of delivering complex and challenging bespoke interior projects throughout Australia. Working with repeat, blue-chip clients throughout Australia, this business is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join the team and play a key role in the direction and front-end strategy of the business alongside the Directors.   • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs, for projects from initial calculations to final figures.
  • Use advanced estimating software to enhance accuracy and efficiency in preparing bids.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring they meet project specifications and budget requirements.
  • Lead and develop the estimating team, providing guidance and oversight to junior estimators and support staff.
  • Assess risk factors associated with projects, offering insights and strategies to mitigate potential cost overruns.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and regulatory changes that could affect cost estimates.
  • Prepare and present bid packages and cost analyses to senior management and potential clients.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Conduct post-project analysis to compare estimated costs to actual expenses, identifying areas for process improvement.
  • Foster relationships with key industry partners, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and service quality.
What do you need?
  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of 5+ years as a Quantity Surveyor.
  • Experience with Fitout & Refurb projects or commercial building sector.
  • Proficiency with Estimating software such as Cubit or CostX.
